About Me
Hello, I am Ruth. I used to be an English and Drama teacher in Further Education. When I retired from that job I became a Kundalini Yoga teacher.
I love sharing what I love! And I love introducing people to healthy, interesting, and joyful activities that they can incorporate into their lives.
So I teach Kundalini Yoga on Zoom and in person. In studios and in parks. I also run workshops combining Kundalini with Creative Writing. This lets me with work with poetry and prose, movement, meditation, and music, to encourage those who attend to access their natural creativity.
Yoga helps us relax and relaxation promotes creativity. When we are being creative we can reduce and reframe the anxieties that we carry around.
Twelve years ago I was full of anxiety. Menopause, OFSTED, parents who lived miles away and needed lots of care. I was really tired, often unwell, not very happy. Inevitably I became quite ill. Labyrinthitis. My balance organs were burned away and for a few months I could hardly walk. I signed up for a Kundalini Yoga workshop and felt immediately that this was going to help restore my balance, in every sense of the word. It did.
Regular attendance at Kundalini classes gave me the resilience to cope with the physical, mental and emotional demands that many of us face in midlife. I met some lovely people along the way too.
Now I support others in their quest for better health, more balance and resilience in the face of challenging times.
I currently teach 5 classes a week and one workshop each month. At present Creative Writing and the Chakras are the focus of my workshops but I have also run sessions on Yoga and Menopause, Sleep, Stress Relief and Back Care.
